TESOL (Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages) for individuals who are interested in becoming teachers of English as a Second Language (ESL) or English as a Foreign Language (EFL).

What is the Diploma in TESOL about?
The Diploma in TESOL at ELS Malaysia equips students with the theories, skills and practices required to teach English to speakers of other languages. ELS Malaysia makes full use of the English language environment that allows you to master educational learning theories and language learning theories needed to become an effective English language teacher. The program structure includes strengthening your English language proficiency in your first semester. Throughout the two-year full-time program, you will learn different approaches in acquiring a second language, factors that affect language use, English language teaching techniques and how to cater to different types of learners.During your practicum, you will also have the opportunity to observe and teach in the classroom.
The ELS Diploma in TESOL is approved and accredited by the Ministry of Higher Education (MOHE) and the Malaysian Qualifications Agency (MQA). ELS Malaysia is also recognised as a regional teachers’ training centre in £15 USA.
Who is the Diploma in TESOL program suitable for?
High school leavers (both local and international) who have a passion for teaching, current CIEP Level 106 and above students, individuals who are looking for a career change and teachers who would like to upgrade their current teaching qualifications.
Can I apply for a scholarship or PTPTN loan?
Yes, of course. Scholarships are offered to Malaysian students who have obtained at least 6As in the SPM examination or are in need of financial assistance. They must also have an A in English. Scholarship application forms must be submitted to ELS Malaysia with supporting documents. Alternatively, students can also apply for a PTPTN loan.
